What lyrics of the song with Bizarrap did Shakira change to avoid Piqué lawsuit?
The composer Keityn revealed in an interview that they had to eliminate a part of the original creation while remaining meticulous.
It appears that ‘BZRP Music Sessions #53′ could have been even harsher against Gerard Piqué and his new partner, Clara Chía, than what was ultimately heard. However, due to concerns that it might cause more controversy than desired, Shakira was compelled to alter the original lyrics of what would later become one of her major musical hits.

This revelation was made by the composer Keityn in an interview with Molusco TV, where he acknowledged that modifications were made to the original creation because some phrases in that cathartic process could have posed issues for the singer in her personal life as well as legally.
“We removed strong elements. We changed parts because certain things could lead to consequences… We revised the verses several times. We had to alter it to be more meticulous,” explained the composer in the interview (in Spanish).

However, being meticulous doesn’t equate to being soft. Keityn pointed this out as well: “We were looking for the exact point, not crossing the line, but also not sounding mild.”
Their efforts bore fruit, as the song garnered over 26 million views within the first twelve hours solely on Bizarrap’s YouTube channel. As the Colombian singer herself expressed in the song, “Women don’t cry anymore, women generate revenue.”
And what was eliminated? A spicier phrase: “A ese ají le falta más pique” correctly translated as “That chili needs more kick,” but with the underlying play on it ‘lacking Piqué.
