What’s going on at Kanye West’s secretive Donda Academy? Eerie quiet at address registered to rap star’s $15,000-a-year school – after reports students and parents must sign restrictive NDAs to attend

Kanye West, known for his education-themed album тιтles, such as The College Dropout and Graduation, has opened his own school in Simi Valley, California.

West, 45, is molding the minds of America’s youth at the Donda Academy. The school welcomed its first students on August 31.

PH๏τos exclusively obtained by DailyMail.com show the eerie campus that was deserted in the middle of the day on September 14, a Wednesday. There were no cars in the parking lot and no signs of life.

The school, that aims to provide a Christian education, could have been observing the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, a saints day celebrated on September 14 that commemorates the discovery of the cross that Jesus Christ was crucified on.

There are around 100 students enrolled at the school in addition to 16 full-time teachers. It’s unclear where they were on the day the pictures were taken. West, for his part, was in New York City this week making his presence felt at Fashion Week.

Little was known about the school until Rolling Stone published an expose this week. The school is named West’s mother, Donda.

On the school’s website, the Donda Academy says its goal is ‘to provide youth with the pᴀssion, purpose and spiritual foundations they need to thrive in tomorrow’s world.’

The website describes the school as providing students with ‘a world-class education that includes a rigorous core curriculum, and an emphasis on sustainability, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving.’

The school teaches pre-K through to 12th grade. Tuition for the school costs $15,000 per year. Around half of the students are receiving financial aid.

Among the students is singer Keyshia Cole’s son Daniel.

Don’t go to the school expecting to see North, Psalm, Chicago or Saint, because West and Kim Kardashian’s four kids are not enrolled. To Kanye’s chagrin, the children are attending a different private preschool through 12th grade prep school in Los Angeles.

In a text message exchange with his ex-wife that the rapper posted to Instagram in early September, the father of four penned: ‘It’s not up to Calabasas or Hulu where my kids go to school I’m not the crazy one here It’s up. I won’t stop until I have a say so on my kids no matter what it legally takes.’

In another exchange, he insisted he meet with Kim in person and suggested she took charge of their children’s choice in school because Kim, who is a mixture of Western European and Armenian descent, is ‘half white.’

Adidas is also involved with the school, backing the Donda Academy’s basketball team, the Donda Doves.

The school’s intention is to recruit the country’s finest young hoop talent. The prospects will be housed in an apartment complex.

Unnamed sources, two families with children in the school, told Rolling Stone that prospective parents were required to sign non-disclosure agreements. Those sources shed more light on the goings on at the school.

One said that there are around 100 students enrolled in addition to 16 full-time teachers. The school is not accredited so the teacher’s qualifications are unknown.

Donda Academy has applied for accreditation with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
